Plant a story

This Christmas I was able to combine numbers 11 and 58 on my 101/1001 list. I wanted to write a short story and start a new family tradition. Every year for Christmas, my friend Michelle writes each of her parents an original Christmas story. Thinking how personal such a gift is, I wanted to do it for Marshall. My story was a little over four pages long, which I think is a good start. At the end of the story, the couple open a gift from their parents and inside are a dozen seed packets with a message, "May you both grow this upcoming year in a dozen different ways, making the world a better place, and your dreams bloom." The couple decides to make it a new family tradition to give a plant to someone each year for Christmas. Along with my story, I gave Marshall a rosemary bush. So each year I am going to write Marshall a story for Christmas, and in the very least, I will give him a plant.
